This policy explains what personal data VRM Capital Partners (“VRM”, “we”, “us”) collects through www.vrmcapitalpartners.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. VRM is a corporate finance and advisory business based in Mumbai, India, operated by Viren Makwana.
We have written this policy with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 in mind. In the language of that law, VRM is the data fiduciary for the personal data described below.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), company or fund (optional), the service you are interested in, the approximate size of your requirement (optional), how you heard about us (optional), your message, and your consent to us storing these details.
- Call bookings: when you book a call through our Calendly pages, Calendly collects your name, email address, the time you choose and any answers you give, and shares them with us.
- Emails and calls: anything you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp, including documents you choose to share.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand how the site is used. It records pages viewed, time on page, the website or link that brought you here, device and browser type, approximate location (city or country) and actions such as submitting the enquiry form or clicking “Book a call”. Google Analytics uses cookies; see section 6.
- Server and security logs: our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. We also log requests for pages that do not exist, without IP addresses, so we can fix broken links.
- Fonts: the site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google when a page loads.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send through the website, sensitive information such as bank or card details, identity document numbers or health information.
2. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange calls.
- To understand your requirement and decide whether and how we can help, including checking for conflicts of interest.
- To prepare proposals and, if you engage us, to deliver the agreed services.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records required by Indian law.
- To keep the website secure and to understand which pages and channels bring enquiries, so we can improve the site.
We rely on your consent, which you give when you submit the enquiry form or book a call, and on the other lawful grounds the Act allows, such as complying with legal obligations. We will not use your details for marketing emails unless you have asked to receive them.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We share it only with:
- VRM’s partners, Viren Makwana and Ritu Makwana, who handle enquiries.
- Service providers that run the website and our communications on our behalf: GoDaddy (hosting), Google (Google Workspace email, Google Analytics and Google Fonts), Calendly (call scheduling) and the WordPress plugins that store form entries in our own website database.
- Others, only with your agreement, for example investors or counterparties on a mandate you have engaged us for, usually under a non-disclosure agreement.
- Authorities, where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Some of these providers, including Google and Calendly, may process data on servers outside India. We use established providers that apply recognised security standards.
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 24 months from our last contact, then deleted.
- Client and engagement records: for as long as Indian tax, accounting and other laws require.
- Analytics data: kept according to our Google Analytics retention setting, and never longer than 14 months.
- You can ask us to delete your details earlier; see section 5.
5. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- delete it, unless we must keep it by law;
- stop using it where you have withdrawn your consent (this does not affect anything done before you withdrew); and
- nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or become incapacitated.
To exercise any of these rights, or to raise a concern, email viren@vrmcapitalpartners.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India once the relevant provisions of the Act are in force.
6. Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits apart and measure how the site is used. They do not identify you by name. When our team logs in to manage the website, WordPress also sets functional cookies, which ordinary visitors do not receive.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site will still work if you do.
7. Security
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to our website and email accounts is restricted, and form entries are stored in our own website database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send highly confidential documents until an NDA or engagement letter is in place.
8. Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
9. Links to other websites
Our pages link to other sites, such as LinkedIn, Calendly and the sources cited in our articles. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
